Temple and Endowments Oct 7th, 2020

 Letter from the Mission President:

We are grateful the time is coming soon for Elder Jorgensen to enter the temple.

He is scheduled to attend the Raleigh Temple on

Wednesday, October 7, 2020 for the 5:00 pm session.

We appreciate your patience as we’ve waited for the Raleigh, NC Temple to identify dates and work through other logistical details. With it being a small temple and one that is currently serving three states, you can imagine the demand for endowments and sealings.

We are grateful the time is coming soon for Elder Jorgensen to enter the temple. He is scheduled to attend the Raleigh Temple on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 for the 5:00 pm session. We appreciate your patience as we’ve waited for the Raleigh, NC Temple to identify dates and work through other logistical details. With it being a small temple and one that is currently serving three states, you can imagine the demand for endowments and sealings.

The temple has set aside four days for our mission. Three initiatory and endowment sessions will be held each day. Because of the smaller ordinance rooms and COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, only four missionaries with two guests each will be permitted. The temple cannot have more than 14 people per session.

Unless otherwise noted, missionaries will be brought to the Raleigh Temple and return to the mission on the same day with members from their area.

Missionaries will meet you at a meetinghouse located at 590 Bryan Dr, Apex, NC.

The meetinghouse is adjacent to the temple.

Please plan to arrive at the meetinghouse 90-minutes prior to the start of the temple session.

Following the temple session, pictures will be taken on temple grounds. Missionaries will then head back to the mission. Church leaders have asked that missionaries and their guests not spend a great deal of time together, not eat meals together, and related. Please prepare your hearts for limited amount of time with your missionary.

Those who will serve as escorts will participate in an orientation meeting with their missionary 60-minutes prior to the start of the session.

Those who have been endowed are asked to bring their own white clothing and ceremonial clothing. While the temple will have clothing for the missionaries, it does not have clothing for rent as found in larger temples.

Missionaries need to bring a pair of unopened garments to the temple. If your missionary did not bring garments to the mission field, please bring sufficient for their needs. The temple does not have garments available for purchase.

Please make sure your temple recommend is current.

You may bring family name cards, but all required prior ordinances must be completed before a family card name can be used in an endowment. The temple will provide names for those not bringing family cards.

The Church requires the following health standards be observed by each patron attending the Temple:

  • Within the last 14 days patrons or a member of their household have not been exposed to the COVID-19 virus by being around someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • Within the last 14 days, patrons have not had any COVID-19 symptoms (e.g., fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, chills or body aches, loss of taste or smell, or dry cough).
  • Temperatures will be checked upon arrival and must not exceed 100 degrees F.
  • While it’s currently unclear if masks are required in the temple, please bring one in case. Masks are required for all interactions outside the temple, including visiting in the meetinghouse.

We are very grateful the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve have given approval for parents or loved ones to join with missionaries as they receive their endowment. What a unique and wonderful experience this will be. In our judgment, the missionaries will be even more prepared for this most sacred experience because of the work they are currently engaged in. It’s the honor of our lifetime to serve with these missionaries that we so dearly love! Please email us with any questions.

Regards,

President and Sister Droubay
