Going to the Temple
Last week Tab and I were able to make a quick trip to Raleigh NC to attend the temple with Jarom Jorgensen.
We went to Pullen park - so beautiful! Lots of trees. We found the farmers market and Tab got his fill of fresh fish for dinner.
There was a beautiful carousel building, but closed. We whistled while standing next to Andy Griffith. ok- maybe it was just me....
So many trees- some interesting pinecones!
Jarom met us at the temple - which is so small but was so beautiful. The spirit there was wonderful. It's been awhile since we have attended, so having this experience was perfect.
There were 4 missionaries who were driven in by some wonderful members - it was a long drive from Tapahanock, Virginia. The mission president and his wife were there for a brief minute - they are busy with all the temple work for these missionaries (they had the temple reserved for 4 days for the mission) and all the incoming reassigned missionaries. I can't imagine how they are keeping connected with all of them!
Funny enough, one of the missionaries was a daughter of Renee who is a friend I've known in the girl scout community for years! Was so fun to see a familiar face - small world! Even with the mask on, I could recognize those curls!
We didn't have a lot of time outside of the temple to chat with Jarom, but it really was a wonderful evening just the same.
So good just to give him a hug.
He tried on a bolo tie his Grandpa made - he says he's wearing it on p-days.
I love this kid! It's hard work going on a mission, especially now with all the changes in how they can teach and share the gospel with others. It's a bit frustrating, but he is fairing well. They are figuring out how to make their days better and keep sharing their love of the Savior.
Along with all of these different circumstances, this is another story to add to his mission.
