Snow

This week is just one of those weeks as a missionary that you just GRIND. Covid restrictions combinded with the first snow VA has seen in 45years(thats an offical stat...jk) made me feel like I live in Alchatraz. That is a little dramatic but folks other than going to the park for excercise we literaly were in the house all week.

The Lord loves effort though so even though there was a lot for me to me annoyed at there was even more BLESSINGS! Before I tell yall the miracles though here's a big rip that happened. Our #1 progressing friend Burma basically told us that she wants to stay baptist because thats how she was raised and her parents were devout baptists....  OOuch. That one hurt because she has read the entire Book of Mormon and almost throught the Doctrine & Covenants AND she knows its all TRUE! Like what. How does that make sense. idk.

MILAGROS!! So as I said before this week we were just grinding which in quarintine missionary life that means making a LOT of phone calls. It's given me simpathy for people that are always on their phone lol thats beside the point. Pretty much no one answered early in the week but we did get a zoom lesson set up with Sister Buchanan. We jump on zoom to find she has a husband and son! They aren't members either so for us missionaries they are a miracle from above hahaha We taught them and they loved it so we are gonna be teaching them!

The other MILAGRO was again while we were on that calling grind. We called Shirley twice, left a voicmail and texted her on the 26th. Out of the blue we get a text from her on the 31st!! We text a little and then set up a call. Immediatley on the call she starts telling us about how she lost her phone and then found it but had to re activate it. She was worried because she didn't know if it worked and then she saw our text ๐Ÿ˜Ž She continues to tell us that she needs to pay her Geico insurance but doesn't know how. I'm a little confused at this point but I've heard weirder things so I kinda change topics and then she goes back to it and asks where she pays her $1000. I'm just confused and tell her were probably not the best ones to answer that question and she says "Wait are you with Geico?" hahahaha We introduce ourselves as the missionaries and she was SO HYPED!! Turns out her best friend is a member and she loves our teachings and is looking for a church!!! We prayed and read Mosiah 24:12-15 and she loved it!! Shirley has gone through the ringer lately. Her husband died from heart failure after $100,000 was stolen from them during a house purchase. Soon after that her daughter died from health problems. That day she had goten nails in two of her car tires and waited 3 hours for help before making it home. She is 80 years old... The point is God will use us to help his children like Shirley if we are willing to keep grinding even when it gets hard or looks like nothing will come from your efforts.

Keep grinding folks, it'll pay off!!
